These rights are non-negotiable in regulated or high-impact environments. They turn “principles” into defensible behavior.
Refusal
If context is missing or assumptions would be required, AI must pause or refuse — not fill gaps.
Provenance (Source + Scope)
AI must separate known vs inferred vs guessed, and state what it did and did not verify.
Minimization + Retention Control
Use minimum necessary data; support retention limits and deletion/export expectations.

How to use this (without overthinking it)
Add the rights to the beginning of your prompts (or your team system prompt) so the model “knows the rules of the room.”
If the AI can’t cite, label uncertainty, or show scope on key claims, it fails the standard. Fix the system — don’t blame the user.
